What is that Beeping?

If the keypad is beeping at random intervals, it means there is a system message or trouble for you. To identify the trouble, please check the keypad screen.

  • If you see a BAT message while the screen is otherwise blank, except the AC in the corner that will always be on or CHIME if you have it enabled currently, you have a low system battery. If this is after a power outage, the battery may just need to recharge. Please allow several hours for the battery to recharge. If the battery is over 4 years old, or will not charge, it will need to be replaced for the system to remain properly operational. You may remove the battery and replace it on your own, or you can call us to set up a service call to replace it for you.
  • If you see a BAT message along with a sensor number, it means that the wireless sensor for that zone has a low battery, you may replace this battery on your own, or you can call us to set up a service call to replace it for you.
  • If you see an FC error on screen, this means the system cannot see a phone line connection. If you have a cell unit, this error does not affect you in any way, the system will send signals to the monitoring station fine. If you do not have a cell unit, and rely on a land line, the panel can no longer communicate with us. Please make sure that your phones are working, and that if you are changing phone services, that they reconnect ALL lines for your system to remain operational. IF YOU SEE THIS ERROR AND HAVE A LAND LINE ONLY, WE ARE UNABLE TO RECEIVE ANY SIGNAL THAT YOUR PHONE LINE CONNECTION IS LOST AND ARE UNABLE TO DISPATCH IN THE EVENT OF AN ALARM.
  • If you see a bf on screen, this can mean a variety of things, usually there is an issue communicating with the cell unit. This can usually be fixed by power-cycling the panel by unplugging the system's transformer from the outlet, and the black or red plug from the battery in the panel. Please plug the battery back in before plugging the transformer back in. After a boot-up is complete, the error message should be gone. If it returns, please call us for further assistance.
  • If you see a CHECK with a sensor number showing, it means one of your sensors are tampered. This means that the cover has been removed, or slightly ajar on a wireless sensor, or that a smoke detector has been removed from its base. Enter your code and then 1 to disarm and clear the message once the issue has been resolved. If you are unable to stop the system beeping or clear the tamper alert, please call for assistance.
